I let my son wear a dress- don't judge me!!

The other day the kids saw me trying on different dresses in my closet, so of course they wanted some dresses too!  My sister gave me a bag full of little princess dresses, so I decided to break them out.  I did tell Nate that boys don't wear dresses, but he's TWO!  Some day he will be a big guy with a big tough attitude, and I will cherish these memories when he begged me to put him in a big fluffy tu-tu so he could run around the living room with his sister.  (Of course, Brian was not home for this.  When I emailed a picture to him, he said simply "take the dress off the boy".  NO FUN! hehe)

Sweet babies..
Looking pretty tough for a male ballerina!
 Cinderella and Snow White..
 One last wardrobe change..

And then they were enjoying their birthday suits!
 Sweet little toes!!
 Love these sweet close ups..
Couldn't you  just kiss those cheeks right off?!?

Fort Worth Stock Show!

The kids had so much fun last weekend looking at all the animals!  With two barn yard animal themed birthday parties in the last two months, they were dying to go see the real life animals up close and personal!  They were so excited on the way there, "Horsey say? Cow say?  Pig say?" They were cracking us up with their animal noises.

Strolling past some cows on our way inside..
All the piggies were asleep (hopefully)!
 Baby calf..

Who knew sheep wore turtle necks??

 Up close and personal!

Excuse Me?

This little girl is a human sponge lately.  She repeats everything we say and remembers things that I can not believe.  It seems that she went from one or two words to entire conversations in  a matter of days..

Last night I was sitting on the floor cleaning out Nate's drawers and she was trying to get around me to help put some diapers away in another drawer (mommy's sweet little helper).  As she squeezed by me, I heard "Excuse me, Mommy".  Not "scuze me" or "scoo-me", it was a very well pronounced "EXcuse me, Mommy".

When did this happen?  When did my baby girl learn to say excuse me when someone/something is in her way?  You just don't expect them to pick up on things like that, and every time they do it still surprises me so much!!  They are getting so good at "please" and "thank you" and "you're welcome" too.  It makes me very proud of them, and at the same time, really reminds me to watch what I say!  They are SERIOUSLY paying attention!

Farm Fun Birthday Party!!

Saturday we went to a farm themed birthday party for our friends' sweet little boy who is turning ONE.   They had fun games, and a candy-filled pinata!  It was too cute!

The birthday boy was a fast moving farmer- hard to catch him for a good picture!
These cute farm animal hats were a hit!
Lilly really liked hers.  She left it on the entire time!

The birthday boy with his Mommy
"Pin the hat on Nico"! (Nate played too, but he wanted nothing to do with the blind fold!)
I didn't get any pictures of the pinata, but I did get one of Nate gathering up the loot!
Lilly stayed on the couch with Daddy.. she wanted no part of the crowd around the candy!
Smart girl, she got some of Nate's candy and didn't even have to work for it!
Getting ready to dig into his first birthday cake.. and his big brother was right there for moral support!
Dad showing him how to really dig in!!
There he goes!
Time for presents!

I think he had a little crush on Lilly.. I don't blame him- she is pretty cute!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NICO!
Thanks for inviting us to your birthday party!

We do it up fancy around here..

Just a regular Sunday afternoon lunch in our fancy hats and jammies..
