First Trip to the Zoo!

It is looking a lot like Spring in Texas, so we took advantage of the beautiful weather and made out first trip out to the Ft. Worth zoo! We met my friend Lindsay and her sweet little boy Logan. It was their first zoo trip too so none of us really knew what to expect from them. I think they all did great, but Nate and Lilly were a little distracted by all the people to focus on the animals. When we would hold them up to see the animals running around, I noticed they would just be looking at the other people who were looking at the animals! On top of that, pretty much every animal was "Puppy!" (No, Nate, that's a gorilla..) HAHA. I promise we read books with animals in them, people.

We did let them run around a bit, but that got a little unmanageable so we tried to keep them in the stroller when we could. I think overall it was a great trip! We were there from about 10:30 to 1:30, and it was perfect. It was starting to get VERY crowded as we were leaving!

Here are some pictures of the day..

All Dressed Up!

One of my very good friends got married Saturday night and I really wanted to show off the lolly pop guild, so we decided to get them cute matchy-match outfits and take them along.

BIG. MISTAKE.

They were fussing before we even left the house, in the car, in the church, at the reception (you get the picture). I swear, my body was sore when we got home from holding, chasing, being a clown on the way home in the car to keep them from screaming (again.. you get the picture). The wedding was beautiful and I would not have missed it for the world, but after we got home that night I was definitely in one of those "never gonna leave the house again" moods.

I'm sorry, I wasn't able to get very many pictures (and NONE of the actual wedding)! It turns out it isn't very easy to carry around a 25 pound baby AND a 25 pound camera at the same time. Darn it.

These outfits will be making a re-appearance for Easter, so tune in in a few weeks for some better pictures (hopefully)!

The Ragamuffin Look is So 2009!

I took Nate to get a big boy hair cut today for the first time! Of course our babysitter trims it all the time, but we have never taken him to an actual hair cut place. This place is called "Cool Cuts 4 Kids" and it is nice because they cater to babies and young kids. He panicked a little at first, but once she got rolling, turned Elmo on, and gave him a sucker, everything was fine!

Every time the lady walked away to get something he would say "All Done!"
Notice BFFs Elmo and Grover are close by as always..
Closer look at the hair cut afterwards..

A Beautiful Day!

The temperature got up to almost 70 today! Yesterday was warm too, but too windy to enjoy. Today was perfect so we went out to the little community playground down the street.

At this point, Nate and Lilly are just not very adventurous on the playground. I know there are kids their age and a lot younger who try to climb all over that equipment, but not our kids! Nope, they were mesmerized by the mulch underneath their feet. There was one other family there and they were just staring at the older kids playing. It was so funny! We kept trying to get them to come over to the slides and they wouldn't budge for the longest time! As long as we were all outside enjoying the awesome Spring weather, that was all we cared about!

Notice Lilly is holding her baby and Nate has Elmo and Grover. It's hard to play when your hands are full!

Just enjoying the mulch..
The next Troy Aikman found a football to play with..

More Words!

I just wanted to jot down more words Nate and Lilly are saying, so I don't forget!

Nate's favorite words:

Elmo "MoMo"
Hi
Yay!
Bye-bye
All done!
Donna (babysitter) - "Nonna"
Mommy, Dada
Thank you - "Dee Cee"
Ick (when picking up something off the floor)
No
Yes Ma'am
Puppy
Silky - "Gicky"
Shoes
Hi Lilly! ("Hi Doo-doo" or "Hi Ti-dee) I know, right?!? Poor Lilly!
Micky (Mouse)- "Ninny"
Poo-poo
Ball
Hat

Lilly's favorites:

Mama, Dada
Thank you (same as Nate)
Me, me (I think it means hold me)
Bubba!
All done!
Donna "Nonna"
Puppy
Shoes
Yes Ma'am
Ball
Hi
Bye-bye
Baby
I love you (right now it's just "I YA!" but I know what she means!!)

Just in case you were wondering..

This beauty queen
is STILL
as FUSSY
as EVER!
Every night we are putting her to bed earlier and earlier.
Tonight was 7:15.
But don't you worry. On spec, you would think she was suffering extreme discomfort but coincidentally she is all better as soon as I give her 110% of my attention and when I lay her in her crib she is off to dream land in a matter of seconds, so it must not be very serious. :)
