Thanksgiving 2010!

We had a great Thanksgiving over at Mom's!   It was a FULL HOUSE, but so nice to have everyone there and see the cousins playing together.  Lilly was a bit fussy and tired and clinging to either me or Brian most of the time, but Nate really got out there and played with the big boys.  They were all so sweet to him and he was loving it!  After lunch, we piled up a bunch of leaves in the back yard and the kids had fun jumping around and playing in them.  It was chilly outside, but they loved it (me, not so much)!
Of course, we had to eat first.  Nate did good eating his turkey and stuffing.  Lilly ate.. Cheetos.
Nate has been a bottomless pit lately!  Eating everything in sight!  He must be growing.
 Sweet cousins, Scarlett and Avery
Having a blast playing outside!  There are eight kids all together (4 boys/4 girls)- between my two sisters and me.  This picture is all of them except Lilly (she was standing a few feet away watching) and Cassidy (she is 13 and WAY too cool to be playing in the leaves with a bunch of little kids!)..

Look at Nate and his buddy Beau in the background.  So sweet :)

 Family shot!
Beau letting Nate read a Sesame Street book to him..
Lilly was happy coloring at the table (family in Colorado- this look familiar to you all?!?)
We went back over to Mom's on Friday to have more fun with cousins!  It was even colder that day!

My Aunt, uncle and cousins were there too even though they are not in any pictures (not sure if I have permission from everyone to post all of the family pictures we took).  Anyway- I'm so glad y'all came down!  It was great to see you!!

We have so much to be thankful for. :)   I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!

Did I really never post these?!?

I am going crazy!  I came across these pictures today and I must have forgotten to post them, but I HAVE to now, even though it has been a month or so.
So a few days before we took the cribs down, we heard some giggling in Lilly's room and this is what we found when we went to invesigate..

 Peek-A-Boo!!!
 So fun!

Updates

I feel like I want to start every single post off with "Sorry about they long delay since my last post, but things have been so crazy!".  But it's totally TRUE!

SOOOO.. here is what is new!

ATTITUDE
Have mercy, these kids have attitude! Their favorite word is "NO!!" (said while slapping their hand at whomever dares to instruct them to do anything, whether they want to do it or not)!

INDEPENDENCE
When you see your child struggling to snap his buttons, or dress her baby dolls, you want to help them right?  Not do it for them, just give them a little nudge in the right direction!  Nate has been putting on his shoes by himself perfectly fine for a while now but lately he always puts them on the wrong foot.  Not that I don't enjoy a little giggle while watching him run around the living room like that, but he hates when I finally try to fix it for him!  When Lilly sets her mind to do something, she freaks out if you even begin to offer her any help at all.  You have to wait for her to accept defeat and say "I need help you, I need help you!!".

REALLY GETTING IT
We were all sitting in the living room Saturday morning and I said "Geez Nate, we really need to cut those fingernails".  So he takes off into our bedroom but we just continued what we were doing thinking he went to go grab a toy or something.  He comes back about a minute later with the fingernail clippers and hands them to me!  WHAA?  I didn't even know he knew where we kept them.  Ok, so they are way more observant than we realized (yikes!!).
After getting out of the bath tub the other night, Lilly lies down so I can put her diaper on and says "I need lotion!"  It was too cute. They definitely know the routine.

REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT
Lilly is doing this more than Nate, but they are repeating everything!!  Entire sentences!  It cracks me up.  This has been going on for a while but I always forget to write about it.  When we say "I love you" they say "I ya you".  They are speaking more in sentences too.  "More milk, please" is one we hear a lot.  Some other favorite "Sit down right here" (while patting their hands on the seat next to them),  "I'll get it", "She/he did it", "No, I say, No!!"

Of course I can't have a post without pictures of these sweet babies so here are some from the last few days..

Halloween!

Sorry so late!  Nate and Lilly did so good on their FIRST real trick-or-treat!!  We walked around the block in our neighborhood and went to five or six houses.  I really thought they would be confused and scared, but they jumpede right in and loved it!  It was a lot of fun for me to watch them having so much fun.  And of course I had fun eating the chocolate they got that night!!!

Nate was a Vikings Football player and Lilly was a Vikings Cheerleader (It was pretty warm out obviously!)

They just love being outside anyway, so they were going to have fun no matter what!
Up at the door of our first house..
