Blog-iversary!

One year ago today I started blogging about the babies! This blog has been such a great way for me to keep my memories together, and it is neat to go back and read about all of our baby adventures! I can't believe it has been a year!!

Some pictures from last weekend..

Easier than I thought..

I just have to brag on Nate a little more this morning. He has done so well without the paci! To give you an idea of why I thought this would be so difficult, here are some pictures taken a couple of weeks ago just before we left in the morning.

"You better not take my paci away just to take a picture"
"Hey, give that back!"
AND.. Melt Down..
Pictures of pretty girl the same morning in her new snowflakes shirt..
YAAAAAWN!

Sucess and Failure

Well, the good news is that Nate (and the rest of us) made it 24 hours with no paci! He did cry for a bit longer last night when we put him in his crib, but once he was asleep he didn't wake up all night and he didn't need it in the morning either! YAY. Get rid of paci- check.

On the "failure" tip, I was overwhelmed last night with trying to divide my attention between the two of them. They did not want to play with their toys or read their books, they both wanted to be held.. by me.. all the time.. all night. All I got all night were little faces staring up and me, arms out-stretched, saying "uh-uh-uh-ma-ma-ma-ma". It breaks my heart and dang near brings me to tears that it seems neither of them get what they need from me. Even when I get down on the floor with them, they crawl on me and one gets upset when I love on the other one, or even when I try to love on both at the same time. They slap at each other or push each other away and I feel like I am constantly trying to show them "equal" affection so they feel loved and don't resent each other (or ME, God forbid!) :).

What am I supposed to do when they are literally fighting for attention?

Pacifiers and Pony tails!

Nate did great without his paci last night! Strangely enough though, he did wake up whining at 4:30 a.m. and as this is not a time I am willing to wake up and fight any kind of battle, I let him have his paci so I could sleep one more hour! I am feeling good though.. small steps! Maybe tonight he will make it the whole night.

Here is a picture of Lilly with her pony tail taken with my cell phone this morning in the car. Cutie!

Sweet Boy and the Great Paci Stand-Off of 2009

Have you ever seen anything cuter than this?

I didn't think so!!

Lately Nate has been full of kisses and Lilly has been giving big hugs. They both have a great way of making me forget about a bad day.

We put Nate to bed tonight without his paci, and I think he is actually sleeping! YAY! Let's hope that's the end of it.. yea right! Wish us luck. We are trying to stand strong! NO MORE PACI!

And how could I forget, as of about two weeks ago (right around the 16 month mark) we officially have two full-time walkers! Nate was just too interested in exploring the new house to be down on all fours! It's crazy how big they look running around.. my big kids.. :(

I feel bad not including pictures of Lilly.. but I will soon! She has been letting me put a little pony tail in her hair, but it is right on top of her head so it looks more like a horn. At least it keeps her bangs out of her eyes!

Feelin' Halloween-y!

Happy Halloween!

Even though I swore I would find something cute around the house and that I would not spend money on costumes, I ended up going to Party City Saturday with every other last minute moron, to buy Lilly a princess dress (Sleeping Beauty to be exact).

I got a tiara to go with the dress. Nate tried it out first and seemed to really like it!

Here is Lilly in her dress.. she actually did great!
The tiara didn't last long though..
This was an easy one.. Nate was a Vikings football player.
Jersey-check, Lilly's purple sweat pants- check, my mascara smeared under his eyes- check!
We hung out over at some friends' who live in our neighborhood. Everyone was in the garage and the babies did not want to stay put. They were running around everywhere!
Nice mouth piece, tough guy!
Mommy with my princess..
