First week in the new house- and 16 months old!

What a crazy week! Of course the weekend we chose to move in to our new house, my mom was out of town and my babysitter was on vacation! We even had to go close with the babies! That was an adventure and I know the title company was loving it!

I have some pictures of the babies in the house, but the house isn't all "done" so I don't have any official house pictures yet. Nate and Lilly are LOVING sleeping in their own rooms. I was a little sad at first because I thought they would miss each other, but I think they are getting enough quality time all day long because they don't seem to mind! They actually slept until 8am last Sunday which is a miracle in our house!

On move-in day, we managed to get the cribs and high chairs over from my mom's in the morning before nap time, so a) they had a place to nap, and b) they could eat when they woke up.. Good thinking huh?!?

First meal in the new house! This is the little kitchen-nook thing..
Moving stuff in.. what a mess! This later becomes our living room..
It's fun to crawl around in dusty, emptied out furniture!
Playing in our bathroom..
Notice "Friends" playing on the TV.. we had a marathon of my DVDs since we didn't have cable yet!
Nate and Lilly love their new backyard! Lilly was ready to get out there and run around in the grass..Nate wasn't so sure.. He kept crawling to the edge of the porch and putting his hand in the grass!
After a little coaxing from Daddy..
He was ready to go!
First bath in their new bath tub!
This girl knows she's cute..

One more picture.. this was the prettiest sunset seen out of the window above our bed. Of course it will soon be covered, and also when the house gets built next door this pretty scenery will be no longer so I wanted to take a picture. It really is beautiful!

We're Moved In!

Ok, so after one of the longest and hardest weeks of our lives, we are all moved into our new home! We closed on Friday and Saturday night was the first night we spent the night in the house. Everything is discorganized and all over the place so I am loving that..and the babies are loving exploring everything. I have got some serious baby-proofing to do. Nothing is safe anymore!

I have a lot of pictures and a lot of stories, but not a lot of time.. so more to come!!

Pumpkin-Palooza!

We took a trip last weekend to the Dallas Arboretum to see the pretty Autumn set-up. Even though it was a gloomy, chilly day, the scenery was beautiful and we had a geat time! We met our friends, the Lawsons (with their sweet little boy Logan), there in the morning and the babies only lasted a couple hours so we were headed home after lunch at about 12:30! They still need a morning nap, so they were getting a little rowdy towards the end! We managed to get some great pictures, though. Enjoy!

I didn't really want to take them out of the stroller too much at first, so we got a few pictures with pumpkins while still strapped in!

Look how long Lilly's hair is getting! She will only let me keep a clip in it sometimes..

Look how much bigger Logan is than Nate and Lilly! He is only ONE MONTH older! Cuties..

Eaten Up and Beaten Up!

Poor Lilly.. She attracts those darn mosquitoes like white on rice..just like her daddy. As you can see from this close up, she has one on her cheek and one on her chest. There was also another on her cheek that you can't see in the picture. She has countless on her arms, legs, and even stomach and underneath her diaper! (No, she does not sleep outside at night!)
Tow days ago I had just picked them up from the babysitter and we were on our way home. I looked back in my rear view mirror and noticed something black right on top of Lilly's nose.

Yep.. you guessed it.

It didn't phase her.. she was sucking on her fingers and didn't even seem to notice the huge black mosquito taking bites out of her sweet little nose. As soon as I could, I stopped and swatted the bug away.

Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough. It had already bitten her several times. This is what she looked like when we got home..
If you can see it, the entire lighter portion was all puffy and it just looked awful! It was HUGE! Poor thing.
She had to call all her friends and tell them.. as you can see she is very upset!

So then I put some ointment on it.. She loved that.
It was actually looking better yesterday, until Lilly was walking over to me with her sippy cup in hand and fell face forward. Somehow she ended up with a big red knot right beside her mosquito bite. All that on top of the scab on her finger from sucking on it too much, I am really feeling like Mom of the Year!
Here is the best picture I could get of Rudolph this morning..
