We are trying..

SO MANY NEW THINGS LATELY! (Forgive the bad quality phone pictures, but my camera is in for maintenance!)

Like, trying to repeat EVERYTHING we say! I always say "Can mommy help you?" when they are frustrated and need help with something, so Lilly started demanding "Help you!!" when she needs help, and Nate says "Help please!" It sounds more like "Hep-peas!" SO CUTE. They are also getting really good at putting their shoes on all by themselves (no shoe laces, of course, but still)!

They have also been very good about brushing their teeth in the morning and at night every day! (Are we behind on this one? Whatever.. :) ) Sometimes we brush teeth in the bath to save time (they aren't really spitting yet so that's ok, right??)..

Every time they get done brushing their teeth, they MUST have a vitamin. You know, because we did it once or twice, so now we have to do it the EXACT same way every single time! CREATURES OF HABIT!

We are also trying a lot of sitting on the potty..
Unfortunately, we're not so sure how stuff gets from our body to the potty yet. Hmmmm...Some day..

Nate is trying to figure out how Daddy hits the ball with the bat..
He thinks it's so funny! He kept looking back at me and laughing every time Brian would hit the ball.
We are also trying to assert our individuality. Here, Lilly is modeling Nate's Elmo shirt combined with a pink skirt from last summer. Lovely!
SO cute in my sunglasses!! Can you see his little eye balls?!?
Lilly got this baseball hat of Nate's and put in on backwards herself. She had it on for a long time like that! She is also wearing mismatched pajamas because her diaper had leaked but I was too lazy to dress her for the day yet. Poor little ragamuffin!
Look at this cool table Daddy made them to drive their trains and cars on! I think I'm supposed to paint it now or something. That will be interesting!
They really have fun with it!
One of their favorite new things to do is open up every single drawer in their dressers and pull out all the clothes and throw them all over the floor!
One day last weekend it was a little too quiet in the house, so I went back to the bedrooms to find Nate in his chair reading my Sorority magazine... just paging through it like he was so interested.. Getting tips about how to be a successful woman.. :) SO FUNNY!
BTW, After I found Nate like this, I went next door into Lilly's room and she was sitting in her chair too. Just sitting there relaxing in the quiet (sucking on her fingers). It didn't last long, but it was very sweet!

Last but not least, I don't have any pictures of this, but our very favorite thing to do is DANCE! Lilly loves pop songs, mostly sung by girls. She just kind of moves her head back and forth, but Nate has got some serious rhythm. His neck starts going around and around and he starts "snapping" his fingers. UGH. It's the best!! It gets me laughing out loud every time.

Bangs?

Lilly has never had a hair cut- not one! I usually have her bangs back in a pony tail to keep them out of her face and avoid this..
But these baby hairs started growing out and I've been noticing they get in her eyes.
The hairs are so thin, they won't go in the pony tail, so the other morning I just took the scissors and snipped off the ends that were in her eyes. All of a sudden, it look like she has bangs!

So you what do you think?

Am I cute or WHAT?!?

Fun Saturday!

Saturday morning, I took the kids to meet up with my good friend, Jenn, and her daughter, Bynley at a local place called Abby's Play town. It's basically a big huge room filled with toys and fun stuff. My niece and nephew were at my mom's for the weekend so they all joined us too.

Here we are taking shoes off and putting our socks on after we first got there. I know you're shocked, but Nate was a little upset at first..
You can see they were barely able to contain their excitement (they are such observers)..
Big Boy! My nephew, Lane, climbed to the top of the mountain!
My niece, Avery, made a new friend on the trampoline!
Nate and Lilly tried to figure out the airplane teeter-totter. Lilly might have found it easier if she would have let go of the baby doll!
Lilly hopped in the back of a truck, driven by Avery..
Taking a break..
Only my kids would pick up the motorcycle instead of trying to push it or ride it (of course I tried to help her get on it, but she would have none of that!).
Typical Lilly!Luckily there were lots of baby dolls..
I guess it's ok for baby to ride the cars the right way.. Brynley had lots of fun with the train. Look at that sweet smile!
Nate and Lilly tried out the trampoline for about 30 seconds.
Jenn and BrynleyLilly giving Brynley a bye-bye kiss
She didn't want Nate to feel left out!
After a fun lunch at Chick-fil-a and a very needed nap for the twins, we went for a swim at our community pool. Here are the little fishies.. (Nate was terrified at the idea of the pool so we let him stay at home with Daddy!)
After the pool, we walked over to the play ground to spend those last few ounces of energy before returning home. Lilly loved the swings!!
I love days like these where we are out and about all day instead of stuck in the house. The kids are happier, so I am too!

Focus

I was playing with my camera the other night, just shooting away trying different settings. It's difficult these days to catch them playing because when they see the camera come out, they always want to run over and look at the pictures of themselves, but I did manage to get a few before they ran over.

Lilly was having fun rocking Daddy..
Look closely at Nate's feet.. He tries to put Lilly's shoes on and can only get half of his foot in each shoe, but he still figures out how to walk around like that (with his heels sticking out of the back).

I just love these close-ups, even if they are a little blurry..
These sweet faces are etched into my mind all day every day.. they remind me to smile, to laugh, to be be grateful, to forgive, to thank God.. And they always remind me to stay focused!
