We are alive! We spent last week in Colorado with family and it was a very nice vacation. Every year we rotate going to visit either on Thanksgiving or Christmas, but the last two years since the babies were born, it is so cold that everyone ended up getting sick. We wanted to be able to enjoy the weather (and not get sick!) so we decided to go earlier this year so we could spend more time! I'm so glad we did. It was just beautiful! A little chilly at times for my Texas blood, but still pretty perfect. And nobody got sick this time, thank goodness!
I will let the pictures tell most of the story, but we had a great time. Nate and Lilly had fun playing with cousins every day (and of course aunts, grandma and grandpa!). We went out to a park close to the house one day to let the kids run around. Another day we went out to a dairy farm and watched them milk the cows!! The kids seemed to really enjoy that. There was also a little petting zoo and pumpkin patch there where they played around in for a bit. Another day we got together with more family to watch the Rangers play the first game in the World Series (unfortunately the game didn't turn out well for us, but we had fun visiting!). On our last day there we drove about 45 minutes up to Estes Park just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. It was chilly in the wind, but beautiful. We used to go up there a lot when we lived there, so it was nice to get back (our favorite pizza place is up there so of course we had to let our kids have a taste!).
One of the main reasons we picked this particular week in October to go, is because we wanted to be there on our niece, Emily's birthday! We always miss the Colorado birthdays, so we thought if it was possible we could try and make this one. So glad we did, it was very special to us to be able to be there!
Beautiful scenery at the park..
The reason I don't have many pictures of Lilly at the park is because she stayed in this swing the ENTIRE TIME we were there!!
Aunt Pam with her three little ones..
Don't know what we would do without Aunt Steph to play with us!!
A little evening performance..
Nate kicking the ball in the front yard with Daddy and Grandpa
Watching the cows get hooked up at the dairy farm and ready to milk!

They got a kick out of petting the baby cows..
The goats were kinda creepy, though!
Lilly's favorite thing to do was sit at the kitchen table and color!
We don't have stairs so they were not used to them, but they did ok while we were there.
The view of the mountains on a beautiful clear day. This was on our way up to Estes Park.
We went into this store in Estes and Nate grabbed this Broncos hat and was running around with it on..
Of course Dad made him take it off and put on this one..
I thought this made a cute picture. She is throwing a fit because we left the toy store (you see the sign on the upper left of the picture?) Total melt down!
Daddy and Nate
The birthday girl, Emily!
She turned seven while we were there!! (She had a "Camp Rock" birthday party- so cute!)
Opening presents..
Nate bonded with Uncle Danny..
The money shot with G-ma, G-pa, and all the grand kids!
We waited a little late to do this one!!
LOVE YOU ALL! Thank you for spending time with us while we were there. It meant a lot to us and we had fun!
