We moved in to this 1575 sq. ft. house less than a year after we were married, in February of 2004. We were so excited! About a month after we moved in, we brought home our first baby, our dog Mattie. Three years later, we brought Nate and Lilly home here. I will miss it, but due to my incessant picture taking, luckily I will never forget it.
Bye Bye living room!!
We did a lot of living in this room..

In our living room a month after the babies were born..

We watched the Vikings on Sunday afternoons in the fall..

We played in the floor on Friday nights..

And Saturday mornings..

We tried our very first "food" in this living room..

We had the babies' first Christmas in this living room.
Bye Bye Kitchen!

Bye Bye Kitchen!
There wasn't a lot of cooking done in here, but...jpg)

This is where we gave Nate and Lilly their first baths..

Bye Bye Babies' Room!
I used to stare at this room when it was our office/catch all/Vikings memorabilia/ extra room and pray that one day it would have a crib in it.
And then we had two!.jpg)

Where they learned to pull up and stand..

.. And had fun playing in the floor!

We had our first swimming pool fun in this back yard!

Bye Bye to our first home. Although we lived here four years without kids, it became so much more of a home when our babies joined us, and those are the memories that mean the most to me and that I will always hold dear. There were many milestones here that will never be forgotten. This house was filled with craziness and love, just asI know our next home will be.

"Home is the one place in all this world where hearts are sure of each other. It is the place of confidence. It is the place where we tear off that mask of guarded and suspicious coldness which the world forces us to wear in self-defense, and where we pour out the unreserved communications of full and confiding hearts. It is the spot where expressions of tenderness gush out without any sensation of awkwardness and without any dread of ridicule." ~Frederick W. Robertson

Gosh! You're gonna make me cry! I loved the memories you posted and the quote at the end! So true!
Aww.. I'm sure you will miss the house that you brought your kids home to... but it will be so nice to get into a new place, right?
I've got tears in my eyes - you're a great writer, and it doesn't help that watching ANY babies grow up reminds me of my own and how quickly time flies. Your next home will be even better because you get to start it with the babies...
So many sweet memories! Just think how many more you're going to make in your new house! You'll always love & cherish the house that everything began in, but I know ya'll are going to make the new house a very special home. Can't wait until it's finished and we can come over!!
I love your blog!! My daughter has the same minnie mouse top that Lilly is wearing in the header photo. I got it on Etsy and have never seen another one like it! Too cute, her Mama must have good taste!
Just wanted to pop in and say hi! Have a great weekend (:
