4th of JULY 2013!

Hope everybody had a great 4th this year!  We went out to watch fireworks at an awesome sports complex for kids that is made to look like a major league stadium.  It was awesome!  Best of all (and very strangely for July in Texas), the weather was nice and there was even a cool breeze.  I have to say, If I've got to be big and pregnant in the summer, this was the summer to do it!  The weather has been pretty great!

Celebrating with MeMaw!

After we found some friends, the kids were having a blast playing and didn't want anything to do with Mommy and Daddy.. not even to watch fireworks! :(  Oh well, at least they had fun. :)

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY!!

How is it that our sweet babies have been on this earth FIVE years?

The kids were so excited to wake up the day before their birthday, to find MeMaw and Papa from Colorado in their living room!  Talk about surprised, they were so happy to have them here!  Per the kids' request, we had a "Princess and Super Hero" themed birthday party this year.  Nate said his favorite Super hero is Captain America, and Lilly said her favorite princess is Cinderella.  We had the party in the same little play place that we had it last year, inside the church where they go to preschool.  No stress- a few balloons, some yummy store bought cupcakes from Kroger, and PIZZA for lunch!  I know, there were WAY too many kids, but I just don't know any other way to do it!  We invited friends from preschool, as well as the friends in our neighborhood that we have spent a lot of time with since I started staying at home.  The kids had an absolute blast and watching them play so happily with so many of their friends was the best feeling ever. :)

Some pictures from the fun party (which was on their actual birthday this year)!

 With 8 month preggo Momma..
 Party favors!

 Both Grandmas!
 Friends!

 Blowing out candles!

These are some phone pics- we let them unwrap a few presents mailed to us from family before we headed to the party.  It worked to get them even more excited for their birthday!!

Super Heroes and Fairies from Aunt Pam!!

 New scooters from Aunt Hilary!

MeMaw and Papa helping put together the cool race track they got Nate.  He loves his cars and loves playing with that track (he and Lilly both)!
 Playing with new Barbie stuff!
Cousins Avery and Lane came up for the party with Aunt Alison- yay!!

I hate that I didn't get any more pictures of any unwrapping presents.  It was a little overwhelming, since most people brought one gift for each of them and there were TOO MANY!    But of course, they loved all their presents.
What a GREAT DAY we had, and I do believe Nate and Lilly felt very loved and special, which is all we could ever ask for.  Happy Birthday to the sweetest five year olds ever :).  Can't wait to see what a great big brother and big sister they'll be, and what this next year holds for all of us!!

Summer, swimming, sun burns!!

Well it's officially summer!  As swimming is the easiest and cheapest thing to do, we are doing that at least 4 days out of the week since the pools opened!

This was our very first pool play date at a neighbor's community pool.  Poor Lilly is always outnumbered by the BOYS! :) But how cute is her new swim suit?!

Then Mrs. Camie, the kids' pre-k teacher, invited her whole class to her community pool.  It was a strangely cool and cloudy day, so all the kids were freezing, as you can tell!!

Pool fun with Daddy!

 Sweet and sassy :)

Play date today with other good friends.. I was worried because I forgot their life jackets, but they did GREAT!  Lilly is really becoming a good swimmer, and Nate.. well, he can float on a noodle and loves splashing in the baby pool still! :)  I feel so bad because Lilly ended  up with a sun burn on her little cheeks. :(.  I need to be better about reapplying the sunscreen!

Many, many, many, many more fun swimming days to come this summer!!!

Cool City Vehicles!

We are really closed to the city of Cedar Hill, and they just had an Expo where they had all of their city vehicles for kids to come look at!  Everything from construction, to garbage trucks, fire trucks, police cars and motorcycles, even helicopters!  We even got to see the helicopter fly down and land- way cool!!

 A little bright out??
