The kids had so much fun last weekend looking at all the animals! With two barn yard animal themed birthday parties in the last two months, they were dying to go see the real life animals up close and personal! They were so excited on the way there, "Horsey say? Cow say? Pig say?" They were cracking us up with their animal noises.
Strolling past some cows on our way inside..
All the piggies were asleep (hopefully)!
Baby calf..
Who knew sheep wore turtle necks??
Up close and personal!

Excuse Me?
This little girl is a human sponge lately. She repeats everything we say and remembers things that I can not believe. It seems that she went from one or two words to entire conversations in a matter of days..
Last night I was sitting on the floor cleaning out Nate's drawers and she was trying to get around me to help put some diapers away in another drawer (mommy's sweet little helper). As she squeezed by me, I heard "Excuse me, Mommy". Not "scuze me" or "scoo-me", it was a very well pronounced "EXcuse me, Mommy".
When did this happen? When did my baby girl learn to say excuse me when someone/something is in her way? You just don't expect them to pick up on things like that, and every time they do it still surprises me so much!! They are getting so good at "please" and "thank you" and "you're welcome" too. It makes me very proud of them, and at the same time, really reminds me to watch what I say! They are SERIOUSLY paying attention!

Farm Fun Birthday Party!!
Saturday we went to a farm themed birthday party for our friends' sweet little boy who is turning ONE. They had fun games, and a candy-filled pinata! It was too cute!
The birthday boy was a fast moving farmer- hard to catch him for a good picture!
These cute farm animal hats were a hit!
Lilly really liked hers. She left it on the entire time! The birthday boy with his Mommy
"Pin the hat on Nico"! (Nate played too, but he wanted nothing to do with the blind fold!)
I didn't get any pictures of the pinata, but I did get one of Nate gathering up the loot!Lilly stayed on the couch with Daddy.. she wanted no part of the crowd around the candy!
Smart girl, she got some of Nate's candy and didn't even have to work for it!
Getting ready to dig into his first birthday cake.. and his big brother was right there for moral support!
Dad showing him how to really dig in!!
There he goes!
Time for presents!
I think he had a little crush on Lilly.. I don't blame him- she is pretty cute!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NICO!
Thanks for inviting us to your birthday party!

New Year's Eve pictures!
This year our friends let us crash their NYE party and I'm so glad we went. The kids were so funny and did so good! We all had a really good time laughing, talking, eating yummy chips and dips, and just being with friends. Another couple had their tiny baby there, and our friends Lindsay and Lucas had Logan there, who is their age, so I didn't feel SOOO bad!
Pictures of the evening for your enjoyment..
Nate put this hat on right away! Also pretty sure he thought their sweet dog was a horse! Thank goodness he didn't try to ride him- I was afraid of that!
Cutie Logan getting into the spirit!
Nate getting into Logan's bag o' fun!Brian and Brandon (and check out their friend, Woody, in the middle!)
Love me some girl time..
Lilly was learning how to air up balloons for balloon animals and having a blast with it- actually we were all having a blast with it!
Miss Priss :)
Another hat! (Mister Priss..) :)
They were cracking us up with these clappers..
Putting on a show..
Blowing bubbles in the kitchen..
They hung in there like real champs! We changed them into their jammies before we headed home-around 11PM!
Kids with Ashley and Buddy..
As usual, our friends Ashley and Brandon were the perfect hosts and we had SO MUCH FUN!
We were so glad we got to crash the party!
HAPPY 2011!
