No rhyme or reason, just sweet pictures!!

Not sure why I haven't posted these pictures, but they are just some of my favorite close-up shots of the kids (and a few sweet extras) over the last couple of months..

These were taken in the front driveway in May.  Lilly has been playing dress up and still had all her play jewelry on, in addition to her swim suit.  She decided she wanted to keep it all on when they went to ride bikes, so I didn't protest!

We have discovered a new love of braids lately.  She LOVES pig tail braids, and to have her bangs in a french braid along the top of her forehead).  Even though I have very clumsy fingers and sometimes it takes me FOREVER to get even a ratty looking braid, I can't resist because she loves it so much!!

 Talk about a contagious smile.. just TRY not to!  You can't do it!!

One on one time!

Last week, I saw something about Chick-Fil-a having a "Father/Son football night" on Saturday, and that you had to make reservations.  So I made Brian and Nate a reservation, of course!  Luckily, he agreed to do it!  Since Daddy and Nate were doing something fun, I knew I had to have something for Lilly and I to do too!  We decided to go to Suzy Q's one of our favorite little places.  It's like a 50's type diner, and apparently they serve a pretty mean grilled cheese. 

I was seriously excited to spend time with her one on one.  I started thinking about it, and we have NEVER gone to dinner (or lunch for that matter) just the two of us!  Doing this Saturday made me realize that we desperately need to do it more often.  I'd love some time with my sweet boy too, just to focus on him and give him attention.  After all, they aren't used to having attention all to themselves since.. NEVER! 

So of course Dad didn't take any pictures of Nate (I begged him to take at least a couple pictures so I could see what they did and he took a picture of the football TABLE CLOTH.  UGH!).  And of course Lilly and I got pictures of OUR date!!

 After eating, we all met back up at the house and walked to the community park to let the kids play.  I got a few (phone) pics of the kids racing to Daddy.  Lilly won!!!

First BIG GIRL hair cut!

And just when we thought she couldn't possibly get any cuter! 

I took L in to my hair stylist to get her first big girl hair cut today!  Of course, I'm a maniac with my phone camera and she just looked so darn cute, so I had to take a million pictures! It's just so funny to me to see her doing these "grown up" things!  You could tell she felt like such a big girl, like a QUEEN! She was very quiet and serious, but loving every minute of it!

 Stacey was even nice enough to curl it so we could get some pretty "first hair cut" pictures!  Not a huge difference in length or anything, but I just wanted to trim it up a bit :)

I can't wait for the day when L and I can go have girly spa days together, getting our nails and toes done!!  I know we are going to have so much fun!!

A week with cousins!

ALL of our cousins were here visiting last week- what a week we had!  We went swimming, played at the park, went for ice cream, had fashion shows and tons of other fun at Grandma's, and even celebrated a birthday!

Good bye, dining room.. Hello, play room!

Several months ago we decided to give up the dream of ever actually using our formal dining room as a formal dining room, and get rid of the furniture to make it a play room.  So a couple weeks ago we FINALLY got all of the furniture out.. and the play room came together pretty quickly!  So far the kids have taken to it a lot better than we thought they would, and they've really loved playing in there.  The biggest bonus for us is that we can finally see our fire place since it isn't covered in millions of toys!

 Haven't figure out what I want to do in this little corner, but here were making it a little movie watching area.

 The great thing about the decorations is that they were all made by the kids themselves- and very easy and cheap to do!

Sorry the huge dining room chandelier is still in the way!  I hung a bulletin board in the middle to display more of their artwork!  Nate was busy driving his cars on the little cars rug in the middle.  I loved those colors, so decided to repeat those all over..(red, blue, yellow, green)

 This wasn't in the play room, but they were reading together and it was too cute to not snap a quick pic.  :)

Again- TOO CUTE not to post!  They still fit in their wagon and have been wanting to ride since they saw me taking it to a photo shoot the other day.  So a few nights ago, they got their wish! 

Little Swimmers!

Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to announce that we now (FINALLY) officially have two kids who like to get in the big pool without screaming/crying/clinging for dear life!  They actually love just letting go and having fun, swimming around in their little Speedo life jackets!

 

HAPPY 4th from the Piersons!

The title pretty much says it!  We went to Lone Star Park again this year.  We watched some horse races, had fun petting some animals, and watched the amazing fireworks show (when they FINALLY started at 10:15.. UGH). All in all, we had fun, but I think we'll try something different next year!
