More Words!

I just wanted to jot down more words Nate and Lilly are saying, so I don't forget!

Nate's favorite words:

Elmo "MoMo"
Hi
Yay!
Bye-bye
All done!
Donna (babysitter) - "Nonna"
Mommy, Dada
Thank you - "Dee Cee"
Ick (when picking up something off the floor)
No
Yes Ma'am
Puppy
Silky - "Gicky"
Shoes
Hi Lilly! ("Hi Doo-doo" or "Hi Ti-dee) I know, right?!? Poor Lilly!
Micky (Mouse)- "Ninny"
Poo-poo
Ball
Hat

Lilly's favorites:

Mama, Dada
Thank you (same as Nate)
Me, me (I think it means hold me)
Bubba!
All done!
Donna "Nonna"
Puppy
Shoes
Yes Ma'am
Ball
Hi
Bye-bye
Baby
I love you (right now it's just "I YA!" but I know what she means!!)

Just in case you were wondering..

This beauty queen
is STILL
as FUSSY
as EVER!
Every night we are putting her to bed earlier and earlier.
Tonight was 7:15.
But don't you worry. On spec, you would think she was suffering extreme discomfort but coincidentally she is all better as soon as I give her 110% of my attention and when I lay her in her crib she is off to dream land in a matter of seconds, so it must not be very serious. :)

Smarty Pants, and other stuff

I hate to brag, but my kids officially know LOTS of stuff.
Where's your ear?
Point to your eye!
Now where's your nose?
Other body parts known but not featured in a photograph here are: mouth, belly, belly button, toes (AKA "piggies"), fingers, hands, hair.

They are getting really good at understanding direction, like "let's put shoes and socks on" and they try, but still need help actually getting them on their feet. Directions they are not liking lately are "Let's change that diaper" and "Time for bed".

They are both so used to the routine, they know exactly what comes when and they get a little disturbed if we change it up. Right after dinner, when we get them out of the high chairs and I say "wanna go take a bath?", they haul butt back to the bathroom shrieking with laughter ready to get naked and jump in. Which reminds me, I have this awesome naked booty picture that I never posted from a few weeks ago (sorry future grown up Nate and Lilly, I had to do it)..

Lilly is also imparting wisdom to her baby doll..

Curious Boy

Look at this sweet face. I love this picture!
When it was cold and snowing outside a few weeks ago, we brought Mattie's food and water bowls inside and put them in the kitchen. Nate was very interested..
Luckily she didn't mind having a VERY close-up audience!
He sat there the entire time she was eating!

Playing Together

Hmm.. it's been hectic around our house and I'm not sure I know exactly why. I think it is just one of those stages. And it seems like with two, the difficult stages are coming on a little more frequently! What's funny is that usually when one baby is unhappy, the other will give you a break (USUALLY). Lilly has just been a little more high maintenance lately. But she is also sweeter than ever, making it impossible to stay too frustrated with her. :)

People often ask me if Nate and Lilly play together. My answer, right now, is definitely NO. They play next to each other sometimes, but not together. I took some pictures last weekend of this phenomenon..

I'm interested in what other moms of twins or two children close in age experience when it comes to this? I hope soon they will actually play together (and maybe even.. DUN DUN DUN.. like each other!). They were jabbering at each other a little while I was taking these pictures. Truthfully, they are always talking and being sweet in the bath tub and sometimes in the morning when I am getting them both ready, so I don't mean to make it sounds like they are always hating on each other. I just look forward to the day when they can understand that we can give both of them attention (will that happen?), and if one walks up while I am reading a book to the other, the one I am reading to doesn't have to smack the one that just innocently walked over and throw a fit. That would be great!
How about mommy holds both of you and reads the book to both of you?!? Ahh, What a concept!

Mom of the Year!!!

One night while I was cooking, Lilly decided to climb up on the couch and see how long she could scream. I had no idea what exactly was upsetting her, besides the fact that I was in the kitchen and not holding her. I think it lasted about an hour.. and we were both crying at that point!

Nate was content watching Elmo's "Potty Time" alarmingly close to the television.
I know it's only February, but I am pretty confident!!!
